Rupee opens weak at 49.60 per US dollar

Mumbai, Nov 18: The rupee on Tuesday, Nov 18 opened weaker by 26 paise at 49.60, as against its previous finish at 49.34 per US dollar, on fresh buying of dollars by foreign banks and others.

Later, the domestic currency oscillated in a wide range between 49.54 and 49.80 against USD in the intra-day trade. ''Rupee weakened today as expectations of further foreign fund outflows from local shares hurt sentiment,'' dealer informed.
