RBI fixes reference rate at Rs 49.68 per USD

Mumbai, Nov 18 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate for US dollar at Rs 49.68 per unit, up by 69 paise, against its yesterday's rate of Rs 48.99 per dollar.

Similarly, the reference rate for Euro increased by Rs 1.01 to Rs 62.58 per unit from its last close of Rs 61.57 per unit, an RBI release said.

The exchange rates for Pound and Japanese Yen against the rupee were quoted high at Rs 74.6417 (Rs 72.1402) per Pound and Rs 51.39 (Rs 50.53) per 100 units of Yen, the release added.
