Govindacharya may play advisory role to Uma Bharti
New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) Former BJP ideologue K N Govindacharya who has been offered the leadership of Bharatiya Janshakti Party(BJS) led by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today said he may accept to play the role of the advisor for her party.
Asked for his reaction about Ms Bharti offering her party to be the political wing under his leadership, Mr Govindacharya, considered as the political guru of the Sanyasin, said he had explicit faith in the leadership of Ms Bharti.
''Her party along with a few other outfits was seeking to occupy 'pro-bharat and pro-poor' space at a time when mainstream political parties were playing a subservient role to protect foreign economic interests pedalling pro-rich policies,'' he said.
''I may become her advisor but will continue to pursue work on academics, constructive and educational planks,'' Mr Govindacharya added.
The former BJP General Secretary, who has distanced himself preferring to study the issues concerning the nation, said he would consult his colleagues and friends before arriving at a decision in the second week of January.
He would be travelling to Bhopal to discuss 'practical aspects' of Ms Bharti's proposal, offering the leadershp of the party till 2021.
She had stated that her party would be the 'political wing' of the RSS irrespective of its acceptance.
Asked if he would involve himself in the poll campaign in Madhya Pradesh where Ms Bharti's party has high stakes, he said there was very little time left for him to play a significant role. However Ms Bharti was competent enough to handle the political issues concerning Madhya Pradesh, her home state.
She had stated that party's slogan will be ''Jab Milenge Roti-Ram, Tab Banega Poora Kaam''.
