Congress did not engineer defection from BJP : Singhvi
Jaipur, Nov 18(UNI) The Congress today refuted charges of ''engineering defection from BJP Rajasthan unit'' and said in view of ''the saffron party's eminent defeat in the ensuing Assembly elections several leaders were fleeing themselves''.
Talking to newspersons here, the party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said ''We do not require to engineer defection for these leaders, including Jat leader Vishwendra Singh, as they are joining us on their own.'' He said the BJP was a sinking ship in Rajasthan and several leaders unhappy with happenings in the ruling party, were eager to join the Congress.
He said ''Several are in the queue and their names will be known only after the results of the December 4 Assembly polls in this state.'' He said there was strong anti-incumbency sentiment against the entire BJP and the Raje Government and the Congress was set for a sure and clear victory at the hustings.
