Chairman Nemwang confident of Nepal Constitution drafting process
Kathmandu, Nov 18 : Nepal Constituent Assembly (CA) chairman Subhas Nemwang today urged the nation to actively participate in the constitution-making process, saying that "only the constitution prepared with the participation of the people will be a true people's constitution".
Speaking at a programme organised by Press Chautari in Pokhara, Nemwang assured that the thorny issue of the army integration and instances of obstruction of the parliamentary sessions by the political parties will not create any hindrance in the constitution writing process.
He was confident that the Constituent Assembly rules and regulations will resolve all the contentious issues.
"The people will have to remain vigilant to ensure that the writing of the Constitution is done as per the calendar of events for it which was recently passed by the legislative-parliament," he said.
"The new Constitution will be prepared by May 2010 and presented before the President for his approval," he added, Nepalnews reported.
