Burglars struck three houses in temple town

Tirupati, Nov 18 (UNI) In a wake-up call for the police, burglars, suspected to be a inter-state gang, committed theft at three houses here and made away with Rs 5 lakhs worth gold ornaments and cash this afternoon.

Police here said the burglars had committed the crime by breaking the house-locks of three houses of Mr Ramaraju, an auto driver, Shankar Naidu, who is working in Ammar raja batteries and Madan Lal, who is a gold merchant when they were away from the house. All the burglaries were done at the same time.

Police personnel were rushed to the spot and a special team had been formed to hunt down the gang, the police added.
