37 cattle seized, one nabbed
Jaunpur, Nov 18 (UNI) Police altogether seized 37 cattle being taken for slaughter after the arrest of a smuggler in Gaurabadshahpur area here.
The cops recovered the cattle, when the trucks in which they were loaded, was intercepted during the vehicle checking drive, Police Superintendent Rajesh Modhak said.
On seeing the police, four smugglers managed to flee, while another was held. As many as 37 cattle were recovered from the trucks.
On interrogation, the arrested divulged that the animals were being taken to West Bengal from Etawah district of UP for slaughter.
