Yeddy urges PM to sort out Hogenakkal water project issue
Bangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to convene an inter-state meeting with Tamil Nadu to sort out controversial issues pertaining to the Hogenakkal drinking water project.
Mr Yeddyurappa, in a letter to Prime Minister said the Karnataka government had written several letters seeking the intervention of the Centre on the controversial project but so far there was no response.
One of the issue to be sorted out is that the project was not part of the adjudication before the Cauvery Water Tribunal and therefore the inter-state implications remain unexamined or unscrutinised, he said in his letter.
