Rs 24 lakh looted in daring daylight bank robbery
New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) In yet another daylight robbery, four armed men looted Rs 24 lakh from a bank in Samaypur Badli area of Outer Delhi this morning.
According to a senior police official, four armed men barged into the Samaypur Badli branch of bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, soon after it opened at about 0930 hrs.
Threatening to kill them, the robbers locked about 10 employees, including manager Rajender Meena, present in the bank, into a room and after taking the keys of the locker took away Rs 24 lakh from it.
They later fled the spot after locking the door from outside.
Employees later informed the police through phone.
No arrests have been made so far and investigations were on, police added.
The robbers were in their 20s, said sources.
This is the fourth daylight robbery in the capital in the last 11 days.
On November 10, four armed men had looted the United Commercial Bank of nearly Rs six lakh in South Delhi's posh Hauz Khas area.
On November 6, an Afghan exporter was robbed of Rs 1.8 lakh in East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area.
The following day, four men robbed Rs one lakh from a Phagwara (Punjab) trader, while travelling in a blueline bus in North Delhi's Sarai Rohilla area.
