Polling teams return from naxal belt in C'garh
Raipur, Nov 17 (UNI) Three days after the first phase of polling in Chhattisgarh, polling teams today returned back to their base from naxalism-affected Bastar division bringing respite to the Election Commission.
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Alok Shukla said remaining 23 polling teams, which could not return till yesterday due to inclement weather, have reached the headquarters today.
''Helicopters were pressed into service to bring back these teams from densely-forested areas,'' Mr Shukla told reporters here.
Meanwhile, the EC was expected to announce the date for repolling in 32 booths of Bastar division by tonight.
