PDP to launch campaign against extremism in Kerala

Kottayam, Nov 17: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kerala proposes to launch a state-wide campaign against extremism, fascism and communalism with a conference on national security at Aluva in Ernakulam district on November 20, PDP working chairman Poonthura Siraj said here on Monday, Nov 17.

He told a news conference that similar meets would be la ter held in all the districts.

PDP chairman Abdul Nasser Madani would lead the campaign.

Referring to state Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's demand for a CBI probe into the Marad killings, Mr Siraj wondered why the Union Government hesitate to order such a probe.

He asked the Congress leadership in Kerala to make its stance clear on the demand.

Mr Siraj also expressed his willingness for a CBI inquiry into the recent bomb-blasts in the state.
