No regularisation of Guest teachers: Minister

Ambala, Nov 17 (UNI) Haryana Education and Transport Minister Mange Ram Gupta today ruled out regularisation of the guest teachers.

''Guests should remain a guest and as such their demand to regularise them was not justified as they were recruited on purely temporary basis, '' Mr Gupta said However, some facilities like increase in salary and leaves had been provided to these teachers, he said while interacting with media persons at a private school function last night.

When asked to comment on irregularities in implementing the mid-day meal scheme in schools, he said that the department was facing problems because there was no separate staff.

He however, said that whenever, the irregularities came to notice, action was taken against the erring officials in view of the health of the children.

The minister said that there was no proposal to introduce privatisation in either the transport or education departments.

He said that new buses were being added to the roadways fleet.

The number of buses would be increased to 4,000.
