Militants kill one soldier, abduct two in JK

Jammu, Nov 17: Suspected militants killed a soldier on Monday, Nov 17 and two Army personnel have gone missing in a mountainous forest area of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, officials said.

The Army had launched an operation about five days back to nab a group of militants reported to be hiding in Beri forests in Mendhar area, nearly 250 km from Jammu. On Monday, Nov 17 morning, Naik Uma of the Assam Rifles, was killed and two soldiers have gone missing, Army sources said. Searches are underway in the area to catch the militants, officials said.
