ISS to disribute sarees to widow pensioners on Nov 19

Vijayawada, Nov 17 (UNI) To mark the 91st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Ilapuram Seva Samithi (ISS) will distribute sarees free of cost to naearly 11,000 widow pensioners, who were selected by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC), at Swaraj Maidan here on November 19.

Addressing a press meet here today, Congress MLC Illapuram Venkaiah and City Congress President Pyala Sominaidu said Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy, local MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs would take part in the programme.

Mr Venkaiah said Mrs Gandhi had introduced several schemes for the downtrodden, weaker sections, widows, orphans and aged and strived for their uplift.
