Groundnut, oil steady, RBD palm oil down

Mumbai, Nov 17 (UNI) Prices of groundnut and oil remained steady today on scattered buying by stockists, while RBD palm oil further declined due to sustained heavy selling pressure from bulk consumers, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oilseeds (per quintal), Javas 60/70 and Javas 70/80 remained flat. Sunflowerseed and nigerseed edged down by Rs 50 and Rs 20 per quintal respectively, following sluggish demand by stockists.

However, castorseed Hyderabad rose by Rs 100 per quintal on renewed buying support.

In oils (per ten kg), groundnut oil and seasame expeller remained unchanged on moderate damand. Sunflower exp ref and cottonseed refined slightly eased by Rs 10 and Rs two per ten kg respectively on poor offtake, traders said.

RBD palmolein also further slid by Rs three per ten kg due to sluggish demand by bulk consumers.

In de-oiled cakes, undec cottonseed recovered by Rs 200 per metric tonne, traders added.
