Swami Agnivesh demands ban on Bajrang Dal, RSS, Shiv Sena
Guwahati, Nov 16 (UNI) Noted social activist Swami Agnivesh today demanded a ban on organisations like the Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena and the RSS for propagating a communal agenda and trying to create a divide on religious lines.
''Those who afflict violence and hatred have no religion. They may try to gain sympathy under the cover of religion, but such forces must be eliminated,'' said the Swami, who visited the city to participate in a peace meet organised by the Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind.
''These people and groups are not followers, they are hijackers,'' he added.
The spiritual leader alleged that groups like the Shiv Sena and the Bajrang Dal were encouraging hatred in the guise of religion and such malicious designs should not be allowed to be fulfilled. Underlining that the primary message of all religions was peace and brotherhood, Swami Agnivesh maintained that communal forces were trying to extract mileage for fulfilling their selfish ends by creating an emotionally surcharged environment in the name of religion. ''Such forces should be eliminated, whether they propagate hatred in the name of Islam, Hindu, Sikhism, Christianity or any other faith, '' he added.
