Poll code violation case registered in MP

Barwani, MP, Nov 16 (UNI) A case of violation of model code of conduct was registered against this district's Sendhwa block member for allegedly campaigning for Congress candidate without obtaining permission during a religious ceremony, police said today.

The Returning Officer received a complaint against tribal Barkha Barela in Chacharia area that she convened a feast programme, without permission, near 'Mudia Baba ki Samadhi'. About 2,500 people, including Sendhwa Congress Candidate Sukhalal Parmar and MP Arun Yadav, took part in the programme.

Ms Barela said she had organised the feast after performing an animal sacrifice on purchasing a four-wheeler.

District BJP President Om Soni alleged that he would also lodge a complaint in this regard.
