One more case filed against Purohit

Nashik, Nov 15 (UNI) A case has been filed against Lt Col Prasad Purohit, key accused in the September 29 Malegaon blast, in Nashik today.

According to sources, as per the complaint filed by one Shirish Yeshwant Date, resident of Pune, Lt Col Prasad Purohit took Rs 20,000 from Date on the pretext of providing revolver from Army quota.

For procuring the arms licence, he provided fake documents in the name of Date and deceived the complainant as well as the government.

This happened in October 2005 at Deolali Camp near Nashik.

A case has been filed against Purohit under sections 420, 465, 468, 471 and 474 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) with Sarkarwada police station in Nashik Police Commissionerate area.

The Crime Branch will investigate the matter further.
