Moderate tremors hit Andaman Islands

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) Two moderate earthquakes hit the Andaman Islands today in the evening, the Indian Meteorological Department said.

The first tremor, measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale, was felt at 1751 hrs. It was epicentered at 10.9N latitude and 91.8E longitude, the met department said.

Another tremor hit the islands at 1916 hrs, measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale. It was epicentered at 10.9N latitude and 91.7E longitude, the met department added.

No loss of life or damage to property has been reported.
