Jogi negates 'Dreamgirl's' impact

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Nov 16 (UNI) Congress star campaigner and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi today claimed that the state's electorate had made up its mind in his party's favour and there would be no effect on them whether cricketer-turned-MP Navjot Singh Sidhu or actress-turned-MP Hema Malini landed up to campaign for the ruling BJP.

''The Congress is going to return to power with a clear majority,'' Mr Jogi said -- after addressing a poll meeting at this district's Sakri -- when a mediaperson pointed out that the BJP was stepping on the ''gas pedal'' vis-a-vis campaigning for the second-phase hustings.

Earlier, Mr Jogi assured the gathering in fluent Chhattisgarhi that paddy would be purchased at Rs 1,100 support price per quintal from farmers and agricultural loans waived after the Congress came to power.
