BJP nominee returns ticket in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Nov 16 (UNI) Former BJP state general secretary Satish Punia has announced he will not contest the december 4 election on the party ticket from Shahpura seat in Jaipur district of Rajasthan.

Mr Punia, who was seeking party nomination for Jhotwara seat in the state capital, told UNI that he would not contest election from Shahpura and he had conveyed his decision to the leadership.

"I want to contest the Jhotwara seat," he said.

Another BJP candidate Shakuntala Meena, who has been fielded from Sapotra(ST) constituency, is also reportedly unwilling to contest the seat.

One of Ms Meena's family members has been fielded by the Congress on the seat and her family wants her not to contest, reports reaching here said.
