BJP candidate Puran Yogi dead

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) BJP candidate from Rajender Nagar constituency Puran Chand Yogi was allegedly found hanging at his Inder Puri residence in Southwest Delhi early this morning.

He was 73.

According to police, his wife Asha found him hanging from the ceiling of room at about 0700 hrs when she went to see him.

Yogi, after waking up at 0500 hrs, had spoken to his wife and then went to his room upstairs where the election campaign material has been stocked.

Till 0700 hrs, nothing was heard from him but later when several calls started coming for Yogi, his wife went upstairs to enquire and found him hanging.

No suicide note has been found.

The Election Commission has, however, not yet taken any decision on cancelling the election to the seat.

Yogi was a three-time MLA and was contesting for the fourth time from Rajender Nagar constituency against Congress candidate Rama kant Goswami.
