Audio guide for tourists visiting Mysore Palace

Mysore, Nov 16 (UNI) For the benefit of tourists, the Mysore Palace Board, which manages the world famous Mysore Palace Museum, launched an audio guide here.

City Mayor Ayub Khan formally launched the audio guide in the premises of the Palace.

Speaking on the occasion, Board Deputy Director P V Awardi told newspersons here yesterday that the multilingual audio guide, included an authentic commentary in eight languages on the palace collection and architecture.

Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of the Board P Manivannan said multilingual audio guides were being used by the famous visiting sites of the world to help visitors understand and appreciate their collections and history.

The Board has started online booking of entrance tickets, which will facilitate tourists to buy it four days in advance. A touch screen kiosk, developed by ITI Ltd, has also been installed to provide information on Mysore, he added.

The tour would the visitor on a veritable treasure hunt through the Palace with impressive collections of golden howdah, gilded palanquins, carved ivory figures, royal portraits and dazzling architecture, he added.
