Aruna helps Sirsa win women judo trophy

Rai, Sonepat, Nov 16 (UNI) International Aruna of Hisar bagged two golds by finishing first in the under-63 kg class and open weight categories in the women's judo competitions of the 22nd Haryana State Games at the Rishi Guru Vidhaya Peeth complex here rtoday.

Gold medalist in Senior International Judo Championship in Vietnam in 2003, Aruna paved the way for Sirsa to annex the team trophy with 26 points. Sirsa finished on top with four gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

Hisar collected 19 points with the help of two gold, two silver and three bronze medals to take home the runners-up trophy.

Shah Satnam Ji of Sirsa were third by collecting 18 points with the help of two gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Results: Judo (Women): Under- 44 kg: 1 Anupal (Shah Satnam Ji Sirsa), 2 Suman (Rohtak), 3 Sapna (Ambala) and Suman Verma (Sirsa).

Under-48 kg: 1 Krishna (Sirsa), 2 Seema (Sonepat), 3 Anjali (Hisar) and Rinku (Panchkula).

Under-52 kg: 1 Sarita (Sirsa), 2 Ramndeep (Shah Satnam Ji Sirsa), 3 Priyanka (Hisar) and Manju (Panchkula).

Under-54 kg: 1 Veena Saini (Sirsa), 2 Sawita (Hisar), 3 Monu (Bhiwani) and Sapna (Kurukshetra).

Under-63 kg: 1 Aruna (Hisar), 2 Saravjeet (Sirsa), 3 Naveen (Shah Satnam Ji, Sirsa) and Ritu (Sonepat).

Under-70 kg: 1 Priksha (Sirsa), Ritu (Shah Satnam Ji, Sirsa), 3 Poonnam Kaushik (Hisar) and Sushma (Sonepat).

Under 78 kg: 1 Rekha (Shah Satnam Ji Sirsa), 2 Neelam (Hisar), 3 Shiksha (Sirsa) adn Ritu (Rohtak).

Open weight: 1 Aruna (Hisar), 2 Kusum (Sonepat), 3 REekha (Shah Satnam Ji Sirsa) and Veena Saini (Sirsa).

Team Championship: 1 Sirsa (4-1-3) 26 points, 2 Hisar (2-2-3) 19 pts, 3 Shah Satnam Ji Sirsa (2-2-2) 18 pts.
