AK 47, 3 AK magazines, ammunition recovered in JK

Jammu, Nov 16 (UNI) Security forces today recovered a huge cache of arms from the forests of Khenu area in tehsil Mandi of Poonch district.

''After developing information regarding dumping of huge cache of arms in a hideout, police and the troops of 27 Rashtriya Rifles launched a joint search operation and busted a hideout,'' sources added.

''One AK 47, 3 AK magazines, 90 AK rounds, one 9 AMM pistol with one magazine and a pouch were recovered from the hideout,'' sources asserted.

In another incident, security forces recovered a dump of cache of arms in Kalai and Khenu areas of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.

''Based on tip off, a joint operation was launched by the army and Special Operation Group (SOG) in Kalai area late last night,'' sources said.

The security forces however, recovered one AK 56 Rifle, one Chinese pistol, three AK magazines, 90 rounds of AK ammunition and other assorted material from the area, they said.
