AITUC urges Govt to solve power problem

Puducherry, Nov 16 (UNI) The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) today urged the administration to take steps to resolve the power problem here.

In a resolution adopted at the 16th State Conference of the AITUC, which concluded here today, the trade union pointed out the problems experienced by the industrial units due to power-cuts and urged the administration to take steps to get more power from the Central Pool for the Union Territory.

In another resolution, the union urged the administration to implement 'Cooperative Agricultural Farm scheme', open Krishi Vigyan Kendra and agricultural college at the land acquired for the Special Economic Zone(SEZ) here.

Resolutions urging the administration to take steps to prevent smuggling of rice to other States from Puducherry, steps to curb the prices of vegetables and other essential commodities and reduce the price of rice through proper dialogue with the rice mill owners were also adopted at the meeting.
