Yeddy assures Rs one cr grant for Kannada Bhavan at Bahrain
Bangalore, Nov 15 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, currently on a tour of Bahrain, has assured a grant of Rs one crore to build Kannada Bhavan in that country.
Speaking after inaugurating the Kannada Vybhava-2008 celebrations last night, Mr Yeddyurappa assured to allocate Rs one crore in the next budget for the Bhavan.
The Chief Minister also assured adequate opportunities for Kannadigas residing in Bahrain to participate in Rajyothsava cultural programmes at Bangalore during the Rajyothsava month.
Mr Yeddyurappa lauded the efforts of Bahrain Kannada Sangha and the Kannadigas in Bahrain for preserving Kannada language and culture.
Mr Fadel Al Umran, Minister for External Affairs, Government of Kingdom of Bahrain, who was the Chief Guest at the function, hailed the contribution of Kannadigas for growth of Bahrain economy.
He complimented the Kannadigas living in Bahrain for maintaining discipline, loyalty and hard working nature and extended full cooperation and assistance to them.
