Thousands gather against violence at Shivaji park
Mumbai, Nov 15 (UNI) Thousands of people gathered at 'Sadbhawna Melawa', organised by city-based Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS), at the symbolic Shivaji Park to protest against communal and religious violence today.
''We are pained and anguished at the divisive politics played in the name of religion, regionalism, fundamentalism parochialism, communalism and terrorism,'' said BCS president Dolphy D'Souza.
He called for an end to violence against humanity and condemned bomb and mob terrorism of recent months.
''We cannot keep saying we are victims of such campaigns. We need to be victors to overcome such attempts we are Indians first,'' he stressed.
The inter-religious rally was supported by over 40 NGOs.
