TDP will capture power in 2009 general elections: Naidu

Hyderabad, Nov 15 (UNI) Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that his party would form the government with thumping majority in the 2009 general elections as the people were 'vexed' with the Congress Government in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the party workers here last night, Mr Naidu said the 'Yuva Gharjhana' conducted recently at Guntur had inspired them especially the youth, as no other political party had conducted a huge meeting in the recent years.

The TDP supremo alleged that the State Government had indulged in corruption during its last four-and-a-half year tenure and people were suffering due to anti-people policies of the government.

He alleged that the Congress leaders, including the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were not leaving anything in the state, including minerals and sand and misusing the wealth created by the previous TDP Government by exploiting the people.

Mr Naidu denied Dr Reddy's remark that his promises were only ''all free babu'' and said if voted to power, TDP would eradicate corruption and fulfill its promises made to the people during the 'Meekosam' yaatra conducted by him recently.
