One arrested for bloacking CM's convoy in Malda
Malda, Nov 15 (UNI) A 22-year-old youth from Mumbai was arrested when he tried to block the convoy of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who was en route to the Circuit House here for a meeting.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sujit Sarkar said several incriminating documents, false ATM cards of several nationalised and foreign Banks and a fake PAN card besides a cash of Rs 20,000 were seized from his possession.
The arrested, who was trying to block the Chief Minister's convoy on his way to Malda, was taken to the Englishbazar Police Station for interrogation.
Police was trying to contact its counterpart in Mumbai.
The incident assumed significance specially in the backdrop of the recent landmine explosion at Lalgarh during the visit of VVIPs, including the Chief Minister and Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan, who had a providential escape.
