MDMK demands economic blockade against Sri Lanka

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 15 (UNI) The Tiruchirapalli District Unit of the students wing of the Marumalarchi DMK today appealed to the Union Government to announce economic blocked against Sri Lanka immediately as its President refused to declare ceasefire in the island nation.

Talking to newspersons here party's state student wing Secretary Gangaiselvan, after attending meeting of the District Students Wing, said a resolution to this effect was adopted at the meeting.

He said the meeting requested the the Union Government to withdraw its military assistance to Sri Lanka immediately.

In another resolution the party condemned the Chennai City Police for remaining a silent spectator during the recent group clash among the Chennai Law College students and demanded Chief Minister M karunanidhi should resign owning responsibility.
