Counterfeit currency notes seized, four held
Sagar, MP, Nov 15 (UNI) Counterfeit currency notes of the face value of Rs 1.57 lakh have been seized and four persons arrested in this connection from Motinagar area in this district, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, fake currency notes of Rs 100 and Rs 50 denominations were seized from the possession of Pappu Soni, Manish Soni, Golu Soni and Sachin Jain.
City Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kaushal said fake notes having value of Rs 10,000 were seized from the house of Pappu Soni, while fake notes having value of Rs 1.40 lakh was seized from Rajmal Jain's place and his brother Sachin arrested.
Rest money was seized from other accused.
Mr Kaushal said intense campaign was being carried out at every level on the suspicion of circulation of counterfeit currency during assembly polls.
Main accused Rajmal Jain and Pramod Jadia were absconding.
