Birsa Munda remembered in J'khand

Ranchi, Nov 15 (UNI) Glowing tributes were paid to freedom fighter Birsa Munda on his 133rd birth anniversary at the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) here.

Addressing party workers, JPCC president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu said Birsa Munda launched agitation against the Britishers and their business policies.

'' Veer Birsa not only challenged the Britishers but devoted his life to the cause of tribals, '' Mr Balmuchu added.

Earlier, in a separate programme Chief Minister Shibu Soren garlanded the statue of Birsa Munda.
