Truck driver charred in vehicles collision
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Nov 14 (UNI) A tenduleaf-loaded truck's driver was charred to death while his cleaner injured seriously when the vehicle collided head-on with a tanker and caught fire near this district's Beltara village, police said today.
The driver was trapped between the steering and died among the flames while the cleaner was rescued by the police and local villagers. He was rushed to the hospital here today where his condition still remained critical. The victims were yet not identified.
Fire tenders reached the spot after receiving information and doused the blaze. The mishap took place on Banaras Highway 35 km from here last night.
Traffic movement on the highway was hampered after the incident but returned to normalcy this morning.
Tanker's driver and cleaner were absconding, police added.
