Sinha becomes new DG of Railway Protection Force
New delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Mr Ranjit Sinha, a 1974 batch IPS officer, has taken over as Director General, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Ministry of Railways (Railway Board). Mr Sinha was Addl.DG/ITBP Headquarters in Delhi before taking over the present assignment on November 12.
After having served in Bihar for about 18 years in various capacities, he was sent on deputation to Government of India and worked as DIG/CBI/Patna. In course of his tenure in the CBI, he has investigated a number of important cases in India and abroad and also served as Joint Director/Delhi in-charge of anti-corruption in the CBI.
He also served in the CRPF and was posted as IG/Operations in Srinagar and in-charge of administration of CRPF Directorate General.
Mr Sinha has been awarded Police Medal for meritorious service and President's Medal for distinguished services apart from Commendation discs rom Director General/CRPF and ITBP.
