Punjab proposes 23 per cent hike in minimum wages

Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) Punjab Minimum Wages Board has proposed 23 per cent hike in minimum wages in respect of 60 scheduled employments in the state.

Stating this here today, Labour Minister Tikshan Sud said the Board had proposed revision of minimum wage of unskilled workers to Rs 123.12 against Rs 100.51 being paid earlier.

He said that notification has been issued to seek objections from the concerned public and the minimum wages would be notified after processing the objections received, if any, after two months.
