President congratulates ISRO scientists on Chandrayaan success

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil congratulated the ISRO scientists on the success of the Chandrayaan-1 mission as the unmanned moon voyager put the Moon Impact Probe (MIP), carrying the country's National Flag, on the lunar surface tonight.

''It is a historic moment and it marks a new era in the ISRO space programme,'' the President said.

She congratulated ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair and his team of scientists on the historic feat.
