Manipal Super Specialty Hospital launches 'Aarogyamastu'

Vijayawada, Nov 14 (UNI) In order to create a social awareness about preventable health care of their parents among youngsters, the Manipal Super Specialty Hospital, in the city today launched a unique gift card called 'Aarogyamastu'.

Addressing a press conference after its launch Manipal Health Systems Vice President T Ramoji said each one of us had responsibility to take care of our parents and not only when they are ill but allways.

Stressing the need of taking preventive care of their parents by the youngsters, he said due to stress, tensions and various problems the parents get affected with diseases. If initially their problems are identified through tests, there was every possibility of saving them from big dangers, he said.

He said there were eight health packages in the 'Arogyamastu' scheme namely, Diabetic check, Well woman check, Kidney check, Cardiac health check, General health check, Urology health check for men, Urology health check for women and Hypertension clinic. The price of the card is fixed at Rs 365 and the validity would be till December 2009. The persons who were willing for check ups should be above 40 years of age, he said.

He said the project was taken up after having discussions with students, working youngsters, academicians by explaining the concept to them.
