Jharkhand govt to felicitate Dhoni, Priyanka Chopra

Jamshedpur, Nov 14 (UNI) Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popular Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra and several other stars born in Jharkhand will be felicitated by the state government during Jharkhand Day celebration in the national trade fair on November 26 in Delhi.

Addressing a press conference here today, Deputy Chief Minister Sudhir Mahato said special invites had been sent to Dhoni, Priyanka, Tanushree Dutta, Duleep Tirkey, Shradhha Das and others.

''The state government will felicitate all of them for glorifying the name of Jharkhand. The likes of Dhoni and Priyaka have spread our name all over the world,'' he said.

The India captain, who was born and brought up in the state capital Ranchi, is now constructing his dream house there on a piece of land gifted by the state goverment in Posh Hrmu area. His father Pan singh, an employee of mechanical designing firm Mecon, came from his home state Uttarakhand around 40 years ago and is now settled here. Priyanka and Tanushree were both born in the steel city of Jamshedpur.
