Jayasudha denies taking money to join Congress
Vijayawada, Nov 14 (UNI) Taking strong exception to the remarks made by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that film stars were joining the ruling Congress party by taking money, noted film actress Jayasudha today said she joined the party only after being impressed by the welfare and developmental schemes undertaken by the Rajasekhara Reddy Government.
Addressing a press conference here, she condemned the allegations made by the opposition parties that film star Krishna and his son Mahesh Babu were supporting the Congress as they were gifted with a land by the state government for the expansion of their studio.
The allegations were totally false and baseless, she said, and added another film actor Nagarjuna supported the Congress Government as he liked the ''Rajiv Gandhi Arogya Sri'' Health Scheme.
Asked whether she would campaign for Congress in the next general elections she said, ''I am not interested in road shows. Instead, I will visit colleges and interact with the students to explain about the scholarships being provided by the State government to them.'' UNI CS AKM PY RAI2107
