Inquiry Commision recommends crimnal action against 6 journos
Chennai, Nov 14 (UNI) Mr Justice P Shanmugham, the one man Commission of inquiry, has recommended criminal action against six journalists in connection with the Telephone tapping episode.
The Commission's report, tabled in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today recommended to the State government to register criminal cases against two journalists of a newspaper, two from a Private Satellite channel, one each from a Tamil and English Magazine.
The cases should be registered against the six journalists for publishing and telecasting official confidential communication without verification and wrongly reporting that the conversation was tapped by the Intelligence wing of the Tamil Nadu Government.
However, the government, decided not to accept this recommendation of the Commission.
