Hillary Clinton would have won US presidential race by a bigger margin

New York, Nov 14 : New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who lost to US President elect Barack Obama in Democrat primary race, would have won the White House by a bigger margin.

Barack Obama won big on Election Day, but Hillary Clinton would have won bigger, the Daily News reported.

A review of exit poll data by CBS News, which noted that many voters were asked as they left the polls what they would have done if the match-up were between the Democrat Clinton and Republican John McCain.

Fifty-two percent said they would have backed the former First Lady, while 41 percent said they would have voted for McCain.

That's an 11 percent margin in favor of Clinton, or more than the 7 percent by which Obama bested McCain.

Interestingly, 16 percent of McCain voters said they would have voted for Clinton if she had been her party's nominee.
