Hardoi by-poll: BSP says Amar violated election code of conduct
Hardoi, Nov 14 (UNI) The ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today charged Samajwadi Party (SP) General secretary Amar Singh with violating the election code of conduct before the bypoll to the Hardoi assembly seat tomorrow.
BSP general secretary Naresh Agarwal here said the Election Commision should initiate proceedings against the SP leader as he uttered objectionable remarks on him at an election meeting during the last day of campaigning yesterday.
From the very same dias, a histor-sheeter also passed an unacceptable comment on SP MP Jaya Prada, which should be considered disrespect towards the women, Mr Agarwal alleged.
The EC should swing into action after all this, he demanded.
The bypoll to this seat was necessited after former UP minister Naresh Agarwal, the then SP member in the state assembly, resigned to join the ruling BSP.
Nitin Agarwal, son of Naresh Agarwal is the BSP candidate from Hardoi seat, which has been a stronghold of the family in the last many elections.
A total of 12 candidates are in the fray.
