General Motors India ties up with BPCL to expand service network

New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) With the aim to strengthen its presence in the Indian market, GM India has tied up with state-owned refiner Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) for setting up Chevrolet Authorised Service Centres at select BPCL workshops.

''The plan is to widen our reach across the country in a phased manner. In the first phase, 15 new service centers will be opened by this year-end in select cities,'' General Motors India President&Managing Director Karl Slym said in a statement.

These workshops have been set up by the BPCL in approximately 50 locations across major cities in India and plans to expand this network to 500 centres across the country by 2010-11.

General Motors India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation, produces Chevrolet Captiva, Chevrolet Optra, Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet SR-V, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Tavera for sale in India and operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Talegaon in Maharashtra and at Halol in Gujarat.
