Cong MLA launches campaign in support of CC project
Kakinada, Nov 14 (UNI) Kakinada Congress MLA Mutha Gopalakrishna today launched a campaign in support of his demand for retaining the Coastal Corridor Project, limiting it to the stretch between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada.
Addressing a gathering, mostly his supporters, at the special camp organised in Bhanugudi centre here, he criticised the opposition parties for opposing the project and said the project would bring a sea change in the entire economy of the region by paving way for rapid industrialisation and generating employment.
He said as the coastal road was already complete up to Tuni, there was a need of extending it up to Visakhapatnam besides laying railway track and gas pipeline parallel to it.
''It requires no private land acquisition as already vast extent of government land is readily available. It is surprising that opposition parties, which kept silent when thousands of acres were acquired for laying the gas pipeline in Gujarat, are now raising their voice against the coastal corridor,'' he added.
