Andhra Pradesh govt urges Centre to set up second UMPP
New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh government has urged the Centre for setting up another Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in the state after the 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam project, Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said here today.
''The Andhra Pradesh Government has seen land near Prakasam district in the state for setting up another UMPP,'' Mr Shinde told reporters here.
If approved, this will be the second UMPP in the state after Krishnapatnam project, which will supply 1,600 MW power to Andhra Pradesh and 800 MW each to Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
