Amar Singh, 9 others elected unopposed to RS from UP
Lucknow, Nov 14 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh and BSP leader Akhilesh Das were among 10 candidates who were declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh today.
These two along with BSP's Veer Singh were re-elected to the Rajya Sabha. Amar Singh made his third journey to Rajya Sabha on SP ticket from the state while Akhilesh Das was earlier elected on Congress ticket.
Bharatiya Janata Party's Ms Kusum Rai and Mohammad Adib, the SP-Congress supported Independent also made their maiden entry into the Upper House.
The formal announcement to this effect was made by returning officer and the Principal secretary of UP assmebly Pradeep Dubey here.
