Vulnerability mapping in MP
Bhopal, Nov 13 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J S Mathur today said the state was introducing ''vulnerability mapping'' to identify critical booths and no stone was left unturned by the Election Commission to conduct free and fair polls on zero-tolerance basis.
Mr Mathur, who accommpanied Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan during his visit to Rewa, Sagar and Harda -- which are three districts adjoining Uttar Pradesh -- told journalists that the DEC met collectors, returning officers, observers, police superintendents, inspectors-general and other officials.
''The border with Uttar Pradesh will be sealed to prevent entry of anti-social elements and vigilance alongside the border will be intensified till the hustings are over,'' the CEO said.
Talking about security arrangements, the CEO said Mr Balakrishnan had a meeting with senior police officers about deployment of Central Reserve Police Force personnel in strategic areas and additional forces from neighbouring Chhattisgarh would also be deployed after Sunday.
