Six arrested for attempting to set on fire tehsildar office

Sangli Maharashtra, Nov 13 (UNI) Six people were today arrested when they allegedly tried to set afire Islampur Thesildar office, demanding better price for sugarcane farmers.

Police sources said some activists, reportedly belonging to Shetakari Sanghatana (SS), tried to burn the front door of the office. however, local people rushed to the spot and put off the fire Police has detained six persons, all from Sangli, sources said.

Earlier, on November seven, the Sanghatana activists tried to set on fire Islampur Deputy Registrar's office.
