Panipat Thermal Power Station-2 breaks record

Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) The Panipat Thermal Power Station-2 (PTPS-2) of Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGC) has broken all previous records by generating 228.12 lakh units of power at PLF of 103.32 per cent in a single day on November 12, which is highest ever since its commissioning.

A spokesman said that the Power Station , comprising of two 210 MW Units and two 250 MW Units, had bettered its own record of power generation of 226.78 lakh Units achieved on November 09, by generating around 1,35,000 more units of electricity in a single day.

Giving details of power generated at the Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Station Yamuna Nagar, he said that the 300 MW Unit-1 of the power station generated 73.09 lakh units of power without oil support on November 13, and achieved a record PLF of 101.52 per cent, which was the highest ever since the commissioning of the Unit.

He further stated that the HPGC, on an average, had targeted to contribute 368 lakh units of electricity daily to the State in the month of November, 08.

Regarding the maintenance of the plants, he said that during the peak winter season, the annual overhauling of 110 MW Unit 3 of thermal Panipat was being carried out at present from October 24 for a period of 35 days.

Subsequently, it was being planned to carry out the annual overhauling of 250 MW Unit 8 for a period of 15 days after which the performance of these units would improve further, he added.
